Terrible...what happened to the browse feature?? OK I found how to do it thanks to my daughter. Still not happy. Worked great before. NOT as easy to use as previous....can I please have the old one back? Also what happened to the one touch cross references. The key feature was the ability to jump straight to a cross reference. ????

The new app drives me crazy. It's slick looking but poor functioning. It's hard to move back & forth between passages, the app keeps dumping you back to the beginning. The app frequently crashes when using the cross references feature. I thought it was just my clumsiness or just my smartphone, but I see from scanning other reviews that I'm hardly alone. I used to go to the old ESV app first -- now I more often go to Bible Gateway to read the ESV Bible because the new ESV app is so frustrating.

I like the fact there is an accessible bible at hand. However sometimes the app does not function well and some of the words are cut off visibly. When using the phone app, you cannot highlight verses as they will disappear, you would not know what had been highlighted. I think this is an app issue.

Too bad about the update. This was my favorite Bible app, but the navigation is almost impossible to figure out. Apparently one now has to scroll to the first chapter to change books, and additionally there is no easy accessible cross reference ability either. I'm not sure what the developers think is better but it reminds me of the Apple version, but much worse somehow. This app used to have a 4.9 satisfaction rating. I am uninstalling after 6 years of very pleasing use.

Job 26:2 has a typo ... "You have ped him" vs "helped." The scrolling between chapters is difficult because you must ensure that you've scrolled the next chapter up to the top of the screen or it won't register that you finished the chapter. Could Crossway make that a customizable option (click "next chapter" versus "scroll through" to advance)? Plus you have to find the right spot to click to get to the table of contents. But the audio option is good; I just miss the older version.

This app used to be so much easier to use. I really dont like this new version. It is difficult to navigate to scriptures in different books. Once you find the chapter you have to scrole to the verse. This is hard in chapters that have more than 20 verses. And getting out of that one into another you have to almost leave the app and start over. I am thinking to switch to a different app all together.

I don't like anything about this new version! The app was my favorite. Now it is not anything as it was. I have vision problems and the ESV at top left in the heading is so faint it is almost invisible. Please just return to us the version we had. It was readable, navigation was almost perfect. I liked everything and it was my first choice over all other bible apps because it was so user friendly. Pretty is as pretty does! This app doesn't. I did not pick this app for "pretty"!

This app is a bit jerky when using the audio reader. It randomly stops and starts. Sometimes it stops but the control still shows the pause button. When this happens, none of the buttons are responsive and the only option seems to be closing the app and starting again. When the app works, it's great!

Pros: good for reading a great version of the Bible, redesign looks nice Cons: Selecting chapters and verses was easier in previous design. Don't like the continuous flow of chapters, hard to scroll and find the end of a chapter quickly like before. Cannot highlight multiple verses at a time without selecting each verse individually then the highlight button then the highlight color then the next verse, rinse repeat - way too many steps! Audio selection and playback is cumbersome to use.
