Love this app. I've used it for years and find it stable and accurate on both my android devices (Galaxy S7 & S5E) Really beautiful on the S5E size screen. Two requests: To be able to enter RA and Dec in a search field and get the arrow & circle to lead you to it. To be able to tap on the screen and get RA & Dec displayed somewhere. I know you cannot keep your data base up with new objects, but I can always find the RA & Dec of any named or numbered transient object if I only had some way to input it into the app.

Used to be my favorite. Constantly having to recalibrate the compass gets frustrating and now when you turn on night mode it looks as it should for about half a second then goes so dim you can't see. Increasing phone brightness has no effect. Tried clearing cache and app data and reinstalling but still no joy.

Once I found a few instructions on how to use this app under 'Diagnostics', I did fine. Tip #1: Go to Google Maps and find your exact latitude and longitude coordinates by right clicking on your location. Plug these numbers and your physical address in 'Location Settings'. Tip #2: Be sure to give the Sky Map app permission to use your GPS. Tip #3: "Point the phone at the sky" means to point your camera lens at the sky. Good luck!

A really good realtime star map, free and no ads. Works perfectly for everyone except die-hard pro astronomers who might prefer a paid, professional alternative. Definitely deserves a higher average review score. If you have issues with accuracy, it's really your device that needs calibration. The app is not at fault.

In an age of fake and misleading apps , this one is absolutely amazing. Its free. FREE. It does exactly what you want to do with the viewing of the stars and planets. It told me that the bright object i was seeing is venus. If you leave it on auto you can move your device all around seeing what stars will be available for your view , even shows the skyline at is appears realtime , helping you discern what your are visually seeing in accordance with what the app shows you. Excellent app!!

Fun star map that shows a real time of stars, planets, and moons around you. You can move your phone in any direction to see what you're looking at or to see where something is and not be looking at it. The graphics are good and the names can be clearly read. Great app to teach kids about space.

The support this app has gotten over the years is remarkable. I first downloaded it on my first Android phone in 2011, and it's still my go to; it just works and serves its purpose without having ads or unnecessary uses. While it's very simple, it gets the job done reliably and efficiently. Well done Sky Map team.

This is a great map but the chart is way off right now. It shows the sun still in the constellation of virgo but you can tell it's wrong based on position. Also shows moon in the constellation of Pisces. The moon is actually in Taurus. The chart is obviously not updating the data correctly. It's not the only chart wrong right now though. I had to read an ephemeris for accurate data
