Only used Hiyacar once but all fine - good car, good price, easy to use over all. Much like similar car hire apps I have used previously. Needing to use the app to lock and unlock the car all the time, rather than using the key once the hire period has started is a bit of pain though.

The refer a friend mechanism advertised on the app is full of issues. What the CS agent said happens and what actually happens on the app with discounts do not match up at all. Please sort it out. Not a good onboading mechanism, I felt misled which is never a good early experience with you!

More and more hiyacars unloock on the app but most ate still owned by individual owners so there's a variety. HIYACAR has no subscription so you can sign-up and use it as a backup even if you're in the habit of using Zipcar or Enterprise. HC is mainly in London this 2021 with some cars in Brighton and Bristol but things may have changed since. There's another similar that does Ireland and one that works out of Gatwick and Bristol airports .

I created an account and get verified and booked a car for today morning. I couldn't get enough information about how to start my booking. There isn't any button to click on app. There was no information about whether quickstart is another app, or a feature that you will reach from hiyacar app. I searched for this simple thing for 1 hour 45 minutes. So far so good, will update further once I have completed my first hire. The service seems brilliant and the customer support is very very good. The app is mostly flawless with some incredibly minor text box bugs but apart from that I haven't had a single issue.

Me and the owner of a vehicle agreed to change the time of pick-up but there is no option to change it on the app. The owner decided to cancel the booking so I can rebook and now the car is not available when I search. Slow response from customer service. Owner don't accept bookings, far too many cancellations. PURE WASTE OF TIME!!!!

Car sharing is the way to go. I've used several different companies over the last few years, and HiyaCar seems to have got it right. It's easy to use (once you get the hang of it), and if, like me, you live in an area where lots of car owners have signed up there's usually a car available when you need one. Which makes it much more convenient than trekking miles to a traditional car hire centre.

Hiyacar is a good idea, but it has some significant drawbacks: - high insurance costs, in comparison to any other renting services. - quickstart feature (unlocking the car with Bluetooth) does NOT work with many of the phones, or works with significant issues. - there is a workaround, as you may try to contact hiyacar service via the chat, but what if you are in the middle of National Park, where the GSM signal is weak? - there are no clear procedures what to do in case of issues, like small incident, inability to start the engine, flat tyre, or just losing the car key. - the application is not the best, to say the least. For instance, slowly uploaded photos are lost if you forget to (or cannot) lock the car at the end of the booking. Or GPS is not working correctly. - the quality of the service via chat is various, depending on what assistant you will be connected to. Some of them will ask for photos of you and your driving license done in front of the car, some of them will just happily help you. Be prepared. In short - I can recommend Hiyacar only to people travelling between cities/towns, with good phone, and renting cars WITHOUT quickstart.

Used it for the first time this weekend - all went really smoothly and I would definitely use again. (Don't forget you'll need to unlock via the app each time before you start the car - I thought I had a flat battery until I realised!)
