I used to love this app, but recently all it does is crash and freeze my Chromecast requiring it to reboot. I never had problems up until a recent update. This happens on 2 different Chromecasts that I own. My Chromecast works with all other apps.

Doesn't detect my Chromecast on HTC M9 even though Qphoto does it without any issues.

Chromecast is supported now, and so is the installation on the back-camera-less Nexus 7 (2012) - wonderful! Definitively missing are play-to AirPlay, DLNA DMR, and Amazon FireTV. Hard to understand why Qphoto resp. Qvideo don't come with automatic background photo roll uploader for the supported media types. Of course we can use Qfile for that purpose... With the v1.1 update - using the context menu for every playback, we can force play to an external application ... however, this is rather uncomfortable, can't find a default setting to permanently set the binding in the application for now.

Works perfectly. Built in video is really poor; but play through my native video player works a treat!

After installing this, my video camera and video playback stopped working. I mean full-on crashing. Nothing worked. Videos stored on the phone played like still frames (audio OK) and the v camera crashed when launched. I tried DL other players, they all crashed too. YouTube, Google videos, nirhing played except qvideo. And qvideo doesn't allow subs, either. On cm11.

The TS-251 has on-the-fly decoding to stream videos to different devices with different screen resolutions to save bandwidht. There is only one problem - you cannot skip ahead in the video, rendering watching completely useless (unless you plan to watch every video from beginning to end in one go). QNAP was not able to fix this - the TS-251 is on the market for moths now...

I just ditched Synology and got the TS-451. Superb hardware and administrative capabilities, but I'm using this as a movie/tv media center that my family can access and watch movies on. The movie layout is a joke. Nothing compared to DSVideo, which scrapes movie info and sorts it nicely. I can use Plex for now, but of everyone I've talked to about media servers, this has held them back from Qnap. Come on guys, innovate!
