The app worked great when we first downloaded it last week. We were able to add sets and track our play. It was fun. Now every time you open the app it shows a darkened screen that you can not interact with then it crashes. We have tried reinstalling as well as trying another device. Using an LG v60 that is up to date. It is a real shame this stopped working. We were having a lot of fun and would have purchased more sets if it actually worked.

This app used to be really great. Ran well even on low end devices, but now it hardly runs at all. I've been using it on a Lenovo Smart Tab, which is plenty powerful for the app, and have had nothing but issues. Sometimes the app won't start at all and I have to reinstall it. But most prevalently are the rendering issues. The brick textures and decals do not render, and the colors of the bricks will be incorrect, and the video instructions do not play at all.

Completely disappointed. Purchased several super mario legos for my 7 year old child. Every other lego set we have ever made has come with paper instructions. I can't get the app to load on my phone properly . I've made several attempts to uninstall and reinstall and the app just goes to a black screen and i can hear mario theme music. We can't put together any of the kits because the manufacturer decided not to include instructions. Can't get instructions to show up on unworkable app.

I think an update is needed, app crashes frequently, cannot get past second page. Have tried on two difference devices (iPad + Samsung phone). Both devices have current software running. Have uninstalled the app numerous times, turned devices off and on. Reset Mario by holding both Bluetooth and power buttons down for 10 secs. Reinstalled app and Mario ran an update. No change, app keeps crashing. Really hoping an update is released to fix this, otherwise is there something I can myself to fix?

Ruined the end of Christmas. It worked great then we wanted instructions to build the set and now Mario won't leave Bluetooth mode and I had two kids bawling their eyes out on Christmas because couldn't have just a fun toy without the device connecting garbage. No factory reset to get back into play mode. I want him to do the play stuff and the update keeps failing . Wish I never connected to the app it ruined the whole experience.

Update: The app is now working again. While the time the app was down we were able use the pdf instructions. The app was working fine. Tried to open on 12/31 and after the start screen, the app goes black and shuts down. I have Uninstaller and reinstalled the app once and will try that step again. I wish we had the option to build the sets without relying on the app. I understand looking for new ways to play and experience lego. I just think not including paper instructions was short sighted.

The app stopped working for me on New Years Day. It was working just fine on and after Christmas. Now it just opens and freezes. Tried restarting my phone. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Still have the same issues. I was going to buy more of these sets, but I guess I'll wait and see if this ever gets fixed. Edit: This has been fixed, but according to the response I got to this review the app is hosted on a single server. This makes me wonder if the issue will reoccur often.

I would rather have paper instructions. Being forced to integrate apps into everything that you have to buy is extremely irritating and adds nothing to the customer experience. Also, the app takes up a huge amount of storage. Edit: The downloadable instructions are great. That link should be displayed prominently on the starter course manual.

We started building on Christmas day (was initially not happy at having to download App but persevered and was working ok). But, the App has now stopped working completely and has black screen and keeps crashing. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. We are now left with half built sets and frustrated as would like to finish. Utter rubbish. Should have paper instructions and not be dependant on an App that doesn't work properly. Why not include?? So so frustrating and annoying....
