Ignore the Hero Pass review bombers. Hero pass was removed from the game, less than a month after it was launched. Believe it or not, Jagex actually does listen somewhat to the community, and the overwhelmingly negative reception this update got made them quickly ammend it, first in a free update that adjusted the way the Hero pass worked, and then a week later by removing it entirely when it was clear people didn't want it fixed, they wanted it gone.

App runs well, at least on modern devices. My OnePlus6 heats up quite a bit after a longer session but that's to be expected from a mobile game. I have tried dungeoneering and some light killing on mobile but those are a bit slow - due to smaller screen size on mobile, a lot of the frequently used stuff is behind menus. The app works perfectly for skilling and repetitive clicking - even better than pc imo.

Been playing the game over 20 years, glad it's finally available on my phone. Just wish the company who owns the game studio would listen to the players more. We've made a habit of hitting them in their wallet when they don't listen.

I don't fully understand why there are so many terrible reviews against this game. Sure there have been some issues regarding logging in, but the game itself is an excellent port from it's PC origins to be compatible with the world of mobile devices. The experience remains True to the original RuneScape experience allowing mobile users to access the full game, exploring the world, meeting people and training up skills. I find it incredible that a game with so many extensive features can be presented in a manner that is at all digestible on a tiny phone screen, but for me this hits the mark. The one aspect of the mobile experience which is definitely lacking is the combat experience. While it's completely possible to do combat activities in the mobile game, it does not carry the same experience and satisfaction as doing it on PC. There are just too many actions to perform during combat that become nearly impossible with a touch screen compared to a keyboard + mouse.

As a long-time Runescape player, I was somewhat hesitant to appreciate the idea of the game coming to mobile. However, when I joined the open beta I was pleasantly surprised that I could enjoy doing a lot of the tasks I would plan for the day without having to go on my PC. I find it a wonderful addition to be able to skill and kill low to mid level bosses/enemies. I do feel that high level bossing is better suited to PC, given the mechanic-heavy nature and having access to many more action bars/keybinds. But people are proving me wrong and some are excelling at high level bosses on mobile, so to each their own. RuneScape has a whole has evolved a lot over the years. Particularly with graphics and updates like the Evolution of Combat. If you're hesitant to play, or restart playing, because EoC was messy on release, I would advise giving it another shot. It's been ironed-out a lot more since the initial release and is a much more fluid system than it was in its earlier stages. I'd also say that RuneScape is one of the most worthwhile MMOs on the market purely for its aesthetic when it comes to quests. Bar-none, this game has the best quest system of its kind. Lore-rich adventures and interesting, varied, storylines help mould the game world and really bring Gielinor (the name of the world where the game takes place) to life. If you like story-driven quests mixed with a bit of humor, some puzzles and combat, and a heaping dose of in-universe history and narrative that takes you on epic adventures then you'll really enjoy what the quests in this game have to offer.

Cramps an impressive amount of interaction into a small mobile screen, but it cant compare to the desktop ui. Frustratingly, the experience doesn't get better on a tablet or chromebook, as clicking on exact tiles or hunting monsters or players is extremely clunky, especially since you can't see your cursor. great for grinding and flipping on the go (dont try pking) and the mobile client never crashed on me unlike some windows experience. Needs 6/8gb+ of ram to avoid intense battery drain.

Game rating: 4.5 Mobile port: 3.5 RuneScape is one of my favorite MMO's out there. Yes it's a grindfest, but that's the fun. There are some money to XP problems but you can just ignore it if you don't like it. The mobile port is still not perfect, it's still a bit buggy and crashes from time to time. Also the UI could be a bit better IMO. But it's still being updated and improved so just give it a try.

Won't open on S24 Ultra. Game crashes upon auto-confuguration and says "Runescape has crashed because of a bug. Please wait for the developer to update and then try again."

I have been playing RS for 16 years, since I was 12 y.o.. this app is almost easier to maneuver than the PC version. I have had the app open for hours (although it automatically logs out after 5min) and never has the app crashed! Also I skill in multiple areas without any issues. I've used 3 different android phones now, 2 of which were cheap phones... this is a great alternative to PC version.
