5 Ways Epic Games Could Enhance Fortnite Reload

The newly popular game mode, Fortnite Reload, is attracting significant daily player counts and has proven to be a successful addition to the game. Introduced on June 22, 2024, this 40-player mode features iconic OG Fortnite locations. Yet, there's always room for improvement. Several adjustments can enhance the experience and attract even more players. Here are five ways Epic Games can improve Fortnite Reload.

Improving Fortnite Reload: Introducing a Leaving Penalty and 4 Other Suggestions

Leaving penalty

The ongoing debate about the absence of penalties for leaving games early has been a hot topic in the Fortnite community for a while now. Recently, there's been increasing frustration among players regarding teammates who quickly leave matches, especially in Fortnite Reload, even though there's a reboot option available after 30 seconds.

Reducing or eliminating XP penalties for players who leave matches early would be a reasonable adjustment. Additionally, Epic Games could consider implementing a short timeout period, similar to what other games do, as a deterrent.

Better loot after rebooting

Once a player gets eliminated and their teammates are still alive, they have the option to get revived after 30 seconds. The major downside is that they land empty-handed on the battlefield, which often results in an instant elimination once again.

Considering Fortnite's relatively small map and fast-paced gameplay, letting players reboot with a decent amount of materials and a few weapons is not a bad idea. Having at least a Common or Uncommon rarity Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and two Small Shield Potions will ensure that a revived player can survive if they are skilled enough, but won't have an unfair advantage over others.

Solo game mode

Players love duo and squad modes, but many players would also appreciate the addition of a solo queue mode. While the concept of Fortnite Reboot relies on a teammate using the Respawn feature, the same idea can be implemented in solo queues as well.

That's an interesting concept. Allowing players to earn a Reboot Ticket through a certain number of eliminations, which they can then use to revive themselves upon being eliminated, could indeed be a brand new and compelling mechanic in Fortnite.

Removal of Mythic and Exotic Weapons

Considering this game mode aims to bring back the old-school Fortnite with an interesting twist, the loot pool should stay true to the original Fortnite as well. Chapter 1 did not have any Mythic and Exotic rarity weapons. These higher-powered items are also too strong compared to other weapons in the Fortnite Reload loot pool, thus making things unfair.

Many players would likely agree that Fortnite Reload is more fun than the current Chapter 5 Season 3 game modes. However, the addition of Mythic and Exotic weapons is kind of ruining the purpose of reliving the classic and simple Fortnite experience.

Adding more POIs

Fortnite Reload's current map includes nine classic locations: Pleasant Park, Retail Row, Tilted Towers, Lil' Loot Lake, Dusty Docks, Lazy Laps, Sandy Sheets, Lone Lodge, and Snobby Shoals. However, unlike the main Fortnite map, it does not have any Points of Interest (POIs).

Adding some POIs and Easter Eggs to the Fortnite Reload map would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience for players. These additional points of interest and hidden secrets could provide more opportunities for exploration and strategic gameplay.

Incorporating POIs and Easter Eggs would give players more reasons to traverse the map and discover new areas, rather than just sticking to the familiar named locations. This could lead to more varied and engaging gameplay, as players navigate and interact with the expanded environment.

The inclusion of these map elements would ultimately make the Fortnite Reload experience more immersive and rewarding for players looking to revisit the classic Fortnite settings with fresh content and challenges. It would help keep the gameplay feeling fresh and encourage players to approach the map in new and creative ways.
