Bandai Namco has rolled out a new update for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, designated as Regulation Patch Notice 1.07.2, now available across all gaming platforms. This patch is designed to refine the balance of the game, implementing changes to various weapons and internal mech components.

The Armored Core series, developed by FromSoftware, had long been overshadowed by groundbreaking titles such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring. However, the announcement of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon as a reboot sparked excitement among fans, who eagerly anticipated another quality offering from FromSoftware. The game did not disappoint, garnering critical acclaim and selling three million copies by July. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game director, has even hinted at the possibility of a sequel in the future.

Since its launch, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has seen numerous updates, primarily focused on balancing gameplay. The latest update, Version 1.07.2, continues this trend by fine-tuning several game elements. For instance, the Missile Launcher BML-G2/P03MLT-06 and the Plasma Missile Launcher Vvc-706PM received reductions in weight, enhancing their usability. In contrast, the Coral Rifle IB-C03W1: WLT 011 experienced an increase in its Impact statistics.

Furthermore, adjustments have been made to Inner Parts, with five Boosters getting an upward thrust buff, while two generators, the AG-T-005 HOKUSHI and VP-20D, saw enhancements in their supply recovery capabilities. Bandai Namco notes that console players must ensure the game is launched in online mode to download the patch; if the game starts in offline mode, the update will not be applied. Players are encouraged to verify their System Menu Interface and Networking Settings to confirm their online status.

While these patches are designed to improve all gameplay modes, they are particularly focused on refining the online experience. The introduction of a ranked mode in Armored Core 6 has made even minor balance changes significant for online matches. The ongoing enhancements from FromSoftware a year after the game’s release contribute to its impressive sales performance.

Given the game's success, it’s reasonable to expect that FromSoftware will continue its support for both Armored Core 6 and the franchise as a whole. Recently posted job openings suggest that the company is developing another project related to robots, which fans speculate could either be a new Armored Core installment or downloadable content for Armored Core 6. Given FromSoftware’s rapid development cycle, an announcement may be on the horizon.
