Disney Dreamlight Valley: Unlocking Timon and Pumbaa Made Easy

With the release of the Jungle Getaway update, Disney Dreamlight Valley players can now invite the beloved duo, Timon and Pumbaa, into their game. Unlocking them is a straightforward process, especially if you've previously unlocked the Lion King Realm by inviting Simba and Nala. If you haven't yet accessed this realm, you’ll need to gather some Dreamlight and head to the castle to have Merlin open the Lion King Realm for you.

Step-by-Step Guide to Unlocking Timon and Pumbaa

1. Initiate the Quest: Start by speaking with Simba, who will trigger the "Finding Old Friends" quest. During your conversation, he expresses concern for his friends Timon and Pumbaa and requests that you return to the Lion King Realm. If you don’t see Simba in the valley, you’ll first need to unlock the Lion King Realm, bring him to Dreamlight Valley, and befriend him to begin the quest.

2. Return to the Lion King Realm: Once back in the Lion King Realm, a cutscene will reveal the locations of Timon and Pumbaa. Approach them and introduce yourself as a friend of Simba, expressing your desire to bring them back to the village. The duo will initially decline, insisting that you complete some “Hakuna Matata” lessons first.

3. Gather Materials for the Mane: To proceed, you’ll need to collect materials to craft a Mane at a crafting table. The required items can be easily found in the Lion King Realm:

  - Jungle Stones: 4

  - Jungle Wood: 4

  - Red Jungle Leaves: 4

4. Equip the Mane: Once you’ve crafted the Mane, equip it and listen to Timon and Pumbaa’s conversation. They’ll suggest a fun plan to help ease your stress. First, head down the wooden log and fish for a crown from the river. Next, use the crafting table to create an Empty Vial using Glass, which can be made by combining Sand and Coal Ore.

5. Use the Crown and Vial: After placing the crown on a rock, break it with your Pickaxe. Then, follow Timon and Pumbaa to the river, scream your fears into the Empty Vial, and toss it into the water. Return to camp and use your Shovel on the beds before going to sleep.

Starting the Relax! Quest

Upon waking up, speak to Pumbaa to begin the “Relax!” quest, where his lesson on Hakuna Matata centers around relaxation. You’ll need to gather supplies to craft a hammock:

- Jungle Vines: 6 (Use your Shovel on the vines in the ground; there are three spots, each yielding two.)

- Palm Tree Sap: 2 (Located on two trees near the camp with yellow sap.)

Once you’ve crafted the hammock, give it to Pumbaa so he can set it up. He’ll then encourage you to try three different napping spots with green leafy seating:

- Near the Camp

- Near the River

- Near the Oasis

Return to Pumbaa and choose your favorite spot to take a nap. After resting, it’s time to have some fun. Use your Watering Can to water three dry mud spots in front of the camp, then step in them to play. Finally, visit the three relaxation spots again to catch three floating fireflies, which you’ll need to cook the Roasted Jungle Fireflies recipe. Snap a picture to commemorate the moment, and then say goodnight to complete the quest.

The Where’s Pumbaa? Quest

When you wake up next, you’ll find Timon in a panic—Pumbaa has gone missing, and you both must search for him. Head to the Oasis at the beginning of the realm to find Pumbaa stuck in a log. Take a photo of him and chat with Timon, who will ask you to find bugs to create an oil mixture.

Use your Pickaxe on three rocks near the river to gather the necessary bugs. Afterward, speak to Timon to get the recipe, then head to the green stove near the river to cook both Green Bug Oil and Orange Bug Oil. Combine the two oils to create Super Slippery Bug Oil, then give it to Timon, who mixes it with the Watering Can. Unfortunately, this attempt will fail to help Pumbaa.

Next, return to Dreamlight Valley and consult Goofy for advice. He will provide you with an old plunger and instruct you to gather materials to upgrade it:

- Iron Ingots: 10 (Combine Iron Ore and Coal Ore.)

- Rope: 10 (Use Seaweed to create Fiber, then use Fiber to craft Ropes.)

- Tourmaline: 5 (Can be found in Frosted Heights and Sunlit Plateau.)

- Hardwood: 15 (Harvested from Sunlit Plateau, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, and Frosted Heights.)

After crafting the Reinforced Plunger, return to Pumbaa and use it to help him. Finally, enjoy a restful sleep with Timon and Pumbaa in the camp, welcoming them to the village the following day.
