Niantic has officially revealed that Pokémon GO's Yamask Research Day is set to take place on October 19 for a limited time. This special event will give trainers a chance to catch both Yamask and its Galarian form while enjoying exclusive rewards for completing event-themed Field Research tasks.
The new season of Pokémon GO, titled "Max Out," kicked off on September 10, bringing Dynamax Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield into the spotlight. This season is centered around Galar region Pokémon and the Dynamax transformation, with a lineup of special events running through December 3, including the much-anticipated monthly Community Day celebrations.
About a month into the Max Out season, Niantic has introduced a new Research Day event featuring Yamask and Galarian Yamask. This event aligns perfectly with the season’s Galar-themed focus and also confirms rumors about Pokémon GO's October 2024 event calendar.
Scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, the Yamask Research Day event will offer players exclusive Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Yamask and Galarian Yamask. Trainers can also look forward to a higher chance of encountering shiny versions of these Pokémon during the event. Other Pokémon, including Cubone, Zigzagoon, Galarian Zigzagoon, Duskull, and Shieldon, will also appear more frequently in the wild, giving players even more opportunities to expand their collections.
For those aiming to maximize their experience during the event, an event-exclusive Timed Research task can be purchased from the in-game shop for $2. This Timed Research and its rewards will only be available until the event concludes at 5:00 p.m. local time on October 19, so players should make sure to claim their rewards before the event ends.
An exciting feature of this event is the ability for trainers to gift the Yamask and Galarian Yamask Timed Research to friends who have reached at least Great Friends level in the game. However, these gift tickets are non-refundable and cannot be bought with PokéCoins.
Additionally, starting October 14, the in-game shop will feature the Lucario Mask avatar item, which was initially introduced during the Pokémon GO Ultra Unlock event. Players will also have access to other themed items, such as the Solgaleo, Yamask, Festival (Pikachu), Festival (Eevee), Pikachu, Sableye, and Banette Masks.
Shortly after the Yamask Research Day concludes, trainers can dive into the Halloween Part 1 event running from October 22 to October 28. During this eerie celebration, players will encounter Morpeko, a unique Pokémon that can switch between its Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode in battles.
With back-to-back events and plenty of themed activities on the horizon, the Max Out season promises to deliver a thrilling experience for Pokémon GO enthusiasts. Don't miss out on these exciting opportunities to catch rare Pokémon and earn special rewards!
